It all depends on what you have versus what you are installing. If you already have forced air heating and are adding ac then the value will go up by about $5000. If you don't have any ducts yet then adding a forced heating and cooling system will add around $10000 to your homes value. There are other factors like location but this should be a close estimate on added value.

$7000 is a lot of money to spend on an ac alone. I hope that if you are spending that much you are getting a new furnace out of the deal. If thats just your bid for an air conditioner, I'll fly wherever you live and install it for $6500. :) Average cost for an a/c add on is about $3500 including labor and all electrical. Hope this helps

I don't know percentages but I would never buy a house that didn't have Central A/C.

It depends on the neighborhood and zoning.

It used to be a general rule of thumb that Central Air would add about $5000.00 to the value of your home in the USA. I've been retired a few years so may be out of date on this.

If your home is zoned commercial, it may not add any value to your home. Zoning is another factor to consider, so to be fairly accurate, you should ask a realtor familiar with your neighborhood.

You didn't mention where the home is. When I lived in Texas, a home without central air wasn't very marketable. Now I live in Michigan. It doesn't get anywhere near as hot and many homes don't have central air. Talk to some real estate professionals in your area. They know the market in your area. You can also look at local listings on www.remax.com Look at houses similar to yours, and see what they are selling for with or without it.
